InkTober Challenge
Create a piece for the InkTober Challenge featuring your pets (chimeras/companions!) from the group!
Your piece must be done by you, must feature a creature from the group, and must follow the InkTober rules (listed on the website linked!) This is a daily art challenge, but you can join in at any time!

Upload your piece to your DA gallery, and in the description state that it is for this contest and include a link(s) to the pet(s) you drew, and credit appropriately. Post a comment on this journal with your finished entries!

<sub>*Please note! The Inktober Challenge is a daily challenge. Each participant will be allowed 3 'make up' days, where you can post multiple submissions a day to make up for missing previous days. Any submissions after the 3 make ups will count as regular fan art, not art for this challenge. (max 3 submissions for make-ups only!)

"Come on, come on, come on!!!!!" The charcoal grey Meliai Kodryma screamed out in frustration. "Look I know we missed last years festival because our bonded person HAD to go overseas for that STUPID exchange thing! But this year was going to be different! This year we were going to be able to taste the Candy Corn, lick the horror lollipops, explore the friggin Corn Maze! AND NOW WE'RE STUCK BABY SITTING THE WHOLE TIME?!" she exclaimed pointing at the new midnight blue Schare Kami pup, who was following his nose keen to learn about the new smells. 
"Seriously? All you can think about is eating all the Halloween Candy? Oh build a bridge and get over yourself already, Bailey" exclaimed a Caryatid Kodryma, her markings strikingly resembling those of a stain-glass window. Both kodrymas rolled their eyes. "Look Bailey, it's not the end of the world right? At least our person let us even come to the fest

A Crypt To Remember- Lit ContestThe night air is eerily still as I creep through a unkempt area of the cemetery. Overgrown weeds cover broken tombstones and a thick layer of un-swept autumn leaves crunch underfoot. A fine shifting mist completes the unpleasant atmosphere, cloaking the graveyard with its oppressive, clammy chill. Pulling the thick, fleecy jacket tighter around my shoulders, I shiver despite its warmth.
The white candle within the wrought iron lantern, flickers fitfully as it swings from my left hand, throwing shadows that shift and move. The pale light illuminates the remains of a cracked concrete path, ending in a set of stairs that lead deep into the maze of abandoned underground crypts.
Earlier today in the warm surrounds of the cosy fire lit room back home, it had seemed sensible to search for treasures beneath the ground, but now that I'm here, I'm definitely entertaining some second thoughts. The camp fire tales about evil spirits and hauntings spring unbidden to mind, seeming somewhat more plau

The Rise of SamhainPart I
The morning is crisp and there’s a fine dusting of frost on the leaves, adding new hues to the red, orange and yellows of the autumn foliage. It’s a perfect day for a walk, so I head out in sweatpants and a hoodie. As I jog past the tree trunks, an explosion of leaves block my sight and –
“Gurgh!” I cry as I screech to a halt, an inch from banging my head against Roki Ahdees’s upside down one. My blue wings flap uselessly to halt my momentum and I dig my claws into the ground.
He grins unrepentantly, looking more like a feline with a bird in its mouth than a smug Altze Gail Sprite.
“Don’t do that!” I snap. Up in the rafters, a Kusubi squawks irritably as my voice hits octaves normally reserved for cetaceans. My face is flushed purple with a horrid mixture of fury, embarrassment and exertion.
Of course, that only makes him laugh. It’s a pleasant sound, much like the rest of him, which annoys me to

<sub>We have a special carousel and harness system designed for Nischt Meer, so they can walk around and carry people on their backs. However, some of our Nischt Meer have run off! Could you find them for us?

Companion Events

_{A Kodryma from the Meliai or Caryatids Clan is required for this event.}

Kodryma from the Meliai and Caryatids Clan enjoy celebrating Halloween by decorating their villages with pumpkins. On the night of Halloween, it is rumored that a mysterious being, known as the 'Gourd King', rises from a Pumpkin Patch and storms into town, taking pumpkins that it likes back to the patch with it.

For this event, members with a Kodryma from the clans mentioned above may draw a pumpkin (carved/decorated) to display in their village.

Unless the pumpkin is painted black/white, it should be coloured.
Submit your pumpkin to your gallery, not scraps or stash.
Include a link to your kodryma in the description, and state that it was made for this event.

On your Kodryma's deviation, leave a comment like so:
"[Kodryma's name] has made an offering for the Gourd King [link to pumpkin]

Each Kodryma may carve/decorate up to 2 pumpkins each.
If you have multiple kodryma, you can have as many as you want participate.

*Prizes: Each pumpkin entry has a chance of receiving candy bars -or- a custom coloured pumpkin item for the Kodryma that made the pumpkin

{ Night Terrors }

As the days draw closer and closer to Halloween, Shiranae tend to get anxious- a monstrous spider like beast, often referred to as a 'Night Terror King', tends to leave its cave and roam the area's around the Shiranae clans. The beast is not an actual 'Night Terror' (ghost/spirit) but has a similar dark, wispy appearance to one. It travels around in search of food and if it smells goodies in your house it may end up attacking the Shiranae!

Until the end of the month, Shiranae can leave offerings for the Night Terror, to keep it from getting too close to their home.

To do so, on your Shiranae's page leave a comment like so:
"[Shiranae's name] would like to offer [number of candy bars] to the Night Terror."

It is unknown what soft of prize you may receive for participating.
You may make multiple offerings, and at the end of the month you will find out what your prize is.
