Breeding

You must wait until a breeding season opens to breed your pets, unless you use a special item.
When a breeding season opens it will be announced via journal, and a search form and finalization form will be posted as a deviation.

The search form is used to find breeding partners- people who are willing to breed their pets with yours. You can use the search form if you are looking for chimera's to breed with, or you can try noting members if you are looking for a specific pet to breed with. If you plan on breeding your own chimera's together, you will have to wait for the finalization page to be posted. The finalization page is where you post the pets that you want to breed, and confirm all breedings.
Slots on this page are given first come, first serve, so act quick!

Each breeding season has slightly different rules and slot amounts, so make sure to read the info on the search/finalization page. Generally, each season is only for one specific breed, and each season has a limited amount of breeding slots. Once all these slots are filled, no more breeding requests will be accepted. Each member has a certain amount of slots, which are free, but if you want more you will have to buy a slot increasing item. Different chimera breeds have different restrictions that only allow them to be bred with certain species.

*Please note: Any complaining, whining, aggressive behavior or acting "butt hurt" will cause you to lose your breeding slots for the season as well as the option to adopt "charity" offspring, and you will also be banned from the next, upcoming breeding season. Any complaints regarding the offspring (markings, colours, mutations, etc) will cause the offspring to be taken from you, unless there was a mistake made (missing item, ability used, etc)
Not every one will be able to get a slot during a breeding season. Breeding is not a custom order- you cannot guarantee exactly how the offspring will look.

Each breeding season allows each member a different amount of breeding slots.
When breeding, if you get the offspring, the slot goes towards your total. If the other breeder gets the offspring, it goes towards their total. If you decide to breed your own pets and give the offspring away, it will still count as your breeding slot. If two members breed their pets, and give the offspring away, it will still count as each breeder's slot.

Twins: If a twinning potion is used in a breeding, or an ability is used, and each breeder receives an offspring, then it will count as a slot for each breeder. If only one breeder receives both of the offspring, then it will still only count as the breeder receiving the offspring's slot. Twinning Potions and abilities that guarantee multiple offspring are considered unnatural, as it goes against the species restrictions and guarantees multiple offspring. Natural twins will not count as a slot.

Each type of breeding slot has a certain amount of slots available, so breed wisely!


✧✧✧{ Slot Types }✧✧✧
There are 4 types of breeding slots: Regular, Mixbreed, Charity, and Special.

Regular breeding slots are used for same species breeding.
EX: Hirsch Ookami x Hirsch Ookami

Mixbreed breeding slots are used for cross species breeding.
*Please note: Just because you get a slot does not mean the breeding will be successful.
EX: Hirsch Ookami x Lisser Cat, Nischt Meer x Dragon.

Charity Slots are used to give random members of the group a chimera. If you want to breed your pets, but don't want the offspring, you can get a charity slot and the offspring will be randomly given to a group member. In some breeding seasons, members can sign up to receive the offspring, or give conditions to the offspring. These slots will count towards your slot total. You will be rewarded if you use these slots.

Special slots are reserved for certain breeding items, like feathers. Most items can be bought from the store. Special slots do not count towards your breeding slot total.



When 2 chimera's are bred their markings and mutations can transfer to the offspring.
Items and custom poses also have a chance to transfer, but it is very low.
Offspring's markings, mutations, and colours often reflect the parents, however occasionally the offspring may have random colours or markings causing it to look completely different then the parent.

Items can be used on pets to guarantee certain colours, markings and mutations.

Example of possible marking transfer:
✧✧♥ Parents have: Leggings + Tiger print
✧✧♥ Offspring could have:  1) Leggings 2) Tiger print 3) Both 4) Random 5) none

Example of possible colour transfer:
✧✧♥ Parents have: Yellow base with white markings + Red base with blue markings
✧✧♥ Offspring could have: 1) yellow + white colouring 2) red + blue colouring 3) base from one, marks from another 4) mixture 5) random

When 2 custom chimera's are bred, there is a higher chance that there will be a custom offspring. Custom offspring can have accessories, or other line art edits like the parents. Sometimes if two complete customs/cosplay pets are bred the offspring might have a custom pose similar to that of the parents, but this is very rare.

Breeding 2 chimera's with mutations and/or custom markings will not guarantee a transfer to the offspring, but will increase the chance of the offspring getting them. A Mutated Gene Vial {item} will guarantee custom markings or mutations on the offspring.

Identical twins (two exact same twins) are very rare. There is under 20% chance of getting identical twins the natural way. Identical twins can be obtained by using a Twinning Potion and a Cloning Potion in a breeding.

Inbreeding is highly frowned upon in this group. If two family members are inbred, the resulting offspring will be infertile. Please check your chimera's description to see its parents, siblings and offspring.

Standard, same species breeding will always be successful (unless stated in the restrictions)
EX: Chi Kami x Chi Kami = 100% chance of offspring



Chimera's that can be bred are listed below with their breeding info. If you do not see a species listed then it is currently not breedable. Only the species listed as "standard" will ever have their own breeding season.


Lisser Cat Cub:
Standard Breeding : Male cubs can be bred twice per season, females can only be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 70% chance that the offspring will be female.

Mix Breeding : Can be mix bred with Chi Kami to produce a Leer Kami ( 25% chance of success ).


Lisser Cat:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred twice per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 70% chance that the offspring will be female.

Mix Breeding : Can be mix bred with Hirsch Ookami to produce a Schare Kami ( 25% chance of success ).


Hirsch Ookami:
Standard Breeding : Can only be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 25% chance of producing twins.

Mix Breeding : Can be mix bred with Lisser Cat's to produce a Schare Kami ( 25% chance of success )
Can be mix bred with a Rinto to produce either a Hiirito Rinto or a Triisho Rinto ( 25% chance of success )


Chi Kami:
Standard Breeding : Can only be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 50% chance of producing twins.  

Mix Breeding :
✧ Can be mix bred with a Lisser Cat Cub to produce a Leer Kami ( 25% chance of success )
✧ Can be mix bred with a Hase Shisu to produce a Kamishuka ( 25% chance of success )


Nischt Meer:
Requires an item to breed. Different items allow this species to breed with different species.

Uma Akumu:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred twice per breeding season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 70% chance of producing a male offspring.

Mix Breeding :
✧ Can be mix bred with a Nischt Meer, however an item needs to be used.


Kusubi:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred once per season. Each breeding pair will produce 1-3 eggs.

Mix Breeding : Currently cannot be mixbred.


Quindel:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred twice per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 50% chance of producing twins.

Mix Breeding : Currently cannot be mixbred.


Rinto:
This breed can only be bred if their roaming desire is Content, Overruled, or very happy.
Standard Breeding : Can be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 25% chance of producing twins.

Mix Breeding :
✧ Can be mix bred with a Hirsch Ookami to produce a Hiirito and a Triisho Kami ( 25% chance of success ). Using a Twinning Potion will cause a third offspring to be produced, with a 50% chance of either a Hiirito or Triisho Kami.


Hase Shisu:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 50% chance of producing twins, and a 20% chance of producing 3 offspring.

Mix Breeding :
✧ Can be mix bred with a Chi Kami to produce a Kamishuka ( 25% chance of success )

Chi Shisu:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 50% chance of producing twins, and a 20% chance of producing 3 offspring.

Mix Breeding : Currently cannot be mixbred.

Pika Shisu:
Standard Breeding : Can be bred once per season. Each breeding will produce a single offspring, and there is a 50% chance of producing twins, and a 20% chance of producing 3 offspring.

Mix Breeding : Currently cannot be mixbred.


Gryphons:
Standard Breeding : tba

Mix Breeding : Currently cannot be mixbred.



To breed rare species together, you require a Dream feather: :thumb315584179:
Rare species can be bred with their standard family members during their families breeding season, without the use of a feather.

Using a feather to breed a rare species ( either with another rare or standard ) will put it under the "special slot" category, and guarantee you an offspring. When breeding with a standard family member, and not using a feather, there is only a 50% chance of producing an offspring. Rare species may only be bred with their standard family member if it is that species breeding season (unless a feather is used). 

Maneki Lisser:
Maneki Lisser's  can be bred together to produce a Maneki Lisser.

This breed can be bred with Lisser Cubs to produce a Lisser Cub with new or custom markings and mutations.

Aur Kami:
Aur Kami can be bred together to produce an Aur Kami.

This breed can be bred with Hirsch Ookami to produce a Hirsch Ookami with new or custom markings and mutations.

Altze Kami:
Altze Kami can be bred together to produce an Altze Kami.

This breed can be bred with Hirsch Ookami to produce a Hirsch Ookami with new or custom markings and mutations.

Lumi Meer:
Lumi Meer can be bred together to produce a Lumi Meer, however they must have the same coloured soul orb to breed. If you wish to breed two with different soul colours, then an additional item must be used. Unlike regular rare species, Lumi Meer require an additional item to breed with Nischt Meer.

Dragons:
Dragons can be mixed breed with other dragon species but wont necessarily produce a new dragon breed. The offspring will be one of the parents, and may have new or custom markings and mutations.

To breed with a Nischt Meer this breed requires a Purple Ether: :thumb269605864:



Mix breeding can produce a new species. It has a 25% chance of success.
Mix breeded Chimera's will not produce a new chimera breed if bred with a different species.
Mix breeds can be bred once per season.
If the two breeding species are from different families, then they are mix breeding.
EX: Hirsch Ookami + Hirsch Ookami= regular breeding
Hirsch Ookami + Chi Kami= regular breeding
Hirsch Ookami + Lisser Cat= mix breeding

*Mix Breeds can be bred during one of their parent's breeding seasons.

Leer Kami:
Created from : Lisser Cat Cub x Chi Kami
Can be bred with either a Leer Kami, Lisser cat cub or Chi Kami.
Has a 25% chance of producing either a Leer Kami, Lisser cat cub, Chi Kami, or nothing.

Schare Kami:
Created from : Lisser Cat x Hirsch Ookami
Can be bred with either a Schare Kami, Lisser Cat or Hirsch Ookami.
Has a 25% chance of producing either a Schare Kami, Lisser Cat, Hirsch Ookami, or nothing.

Skeleuche:
Created from : Nischt Meer x Uma Akumu
Can only be bred with another Skeleuche.
Will always produce an offspring, however there is a 50% chance that the offspring will be infertile.

Ki Rinto:
Created from : Nischt Meer x Dragon
Can be bred with a Ki Rinto or dragon species.
Will always produce an offspring, however there is a 50% chance that the offspring will be infertile.

Hiirito Rinto or a Triisho Rinto
Created from : Hirsch Ookami x Rinto
Can be bred with either a Hiirito Rinto, Triisho Rinto, Rinto, or Hirsch Ookami
Has a 25% chance of producing either a Hiirito Rinto/Triisho Rinto, Rinto, or Hirsch Ookami or nothing.

Kamishuka:
Created from : Chi Kami x Hase Shisu
Can be bred with either a Kamishuka, Chi Kami, or a Hase Shisu
Has a 25% chance of producing either a Kamishuka, Chi Kami, Hase Shisu, or nothing.
